Meta releases two Llama 4 AI models

Meta has unveiled two powerful AI models—Llama 4 Scout and Llama 4 Maverick—set to power its assistant across WhatsApp, Messenger, and Instagram. Scout is compact yet beats models like Google’s Gemma 3, while Maverick rivals GPT-4 with less resource demand.

A larger model, Llama 4 Behemoth, is in development with 288 billion parameters, aimed at pushing the boundaries further. Though Meta calls these models open-source, the license restricts use by massive platforms, raising eyebrows. Expect more updates at LlamaCon on April 29.
